ESM Today Research Symposium

ESM Today: Engineering Science and Mechanics Research Symposium

ESM Today is an annual research symposium organized by the ESM Graduate Student Council, which gives undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to present their work through oral and poster presentations to peers, colleagues, and faculty; visually display their research in an Art in Science exhibition; exchange ideas across the various research disciplines; and hone their presentation skills.

Each year, approximately 30 to 40 students present their research. Presenters are required to explain their work in a way that is easily understandable to both engineers and scientists who are not specialists in a presenter’s discipline. ESM faculty and students serve as judges, and over $4,000 in cash prizes are awarded each year.

For more information, contact the coordinator for alumni, development, and advancement, Bethany Illig at 814-867-1569 or buh196@psu.edu.
