Analysis: Live Load

Bridge deck Analysis: Live Load — A load that is not permanently applied by the structure. In this case the AASHTO design standard specifies an 85 pounds per square foot (psf) load to represent worst case service conditions.

  • The model of the bridge is shown below.
  • The live load of the beam will need to be determined by multiplying the live load by the length of the bridge and then dividing that by the number of support decks.
