Research Interests

Through interdisciplinary research at the interfaces of Acoustics, Photonics, Microfluidics, and Biology to develop functional micro/nano systems in the areas of
- Acoustic metamaterials (Tunable band gap technologies for acoustic wave manipulation)
- Acoustophoresis (Acoustic wave-based particle, cell, and organism manipulation in microfluidic chips)
- Optofluidics (Fluorescence-activated cell sorting systems and on-chip tunable microfluidic lenses)
- Nanophotonics (Optical metamaterials, Photonic crystals, and Plasmonic lenses)
to benefit applications such as noise/vibration control, communications, bio-sensing, and medical diagnosis and therapy.
