Research Interests
- Template-based surface patterning, especially three-dimensional surface pattern fabrications and their optical applications;
Template-confined dewetting process to interesting surface patterns of gold for localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR)-based sensing;
Design of highly sensitive SERS (surface-Enhanced Raman scattering)substrates for biological sensing applications (e.g., bio-markers, pathogens);
Integrate SERS substrates into microfluidic channels for pollutants and bio-molecules detections;
Micro/nanofludics channel design;
Interesting Janus structure fabrications in microfluidics aiming at biomedical applications;
Metamaterials constructions;
Luminescent and bio-compatible Quantum dots (e.g., carbon) creation targeting bio-imaging applications;
Size- and shape-controlled synthesis of nanoparticles using wet-chemistry based methods;
Site-specific growth studies during electrochemical depositions.
