Postdoctoral and Ph.D. Student Openings at The Pennsylvania State University
Positions available immediately for a new collaborative project at the interface of Biochemistry, Cellular Biology and Micro/Nanotechnology in the Stephen Benkovic (http://sites.psu.edu/benkoviclab/) /Tony Huang (http://www.esm.psu.edu/huang/) Labs. For the Benkovic project responsibilities, skills in enzymology, molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, and biophysical techniques (e.g., fluorescence microscopy, rapid kinetics, single molecules) are especially attractive; for the Huang lab participation, expertise in microfluides, acoustics, photonics, and microfabrication is desirable. Problems to be studied focus on the biochemical response of single and multiple cells (e.g. myocytes and fibroblasts) to mechanical and chemical stimulation as tracked by charges in key biomarkers. Highly-qualified Ph.D. applicants should submit a cover letter, CV and 3 reference letters to Sharon Devlin at skd109@psu.edu and copy to Prof. Huang at junhuang@psu.edu.
The Penn State BioNEMS Group is also inviting the most motivated, talented students to join us in using micro/nano technology to find innovative solutions to solve the world’s challenging problems.
We are recruiting exceptional Ph.D. candidates with:
- Passion for innovation and excellence
- Excellent training in Science/Engineering, specifically: Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Bioengineering, Optics, Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or Biology
- Relentless pursuit of results and success
- Good character
- Strong team spirit
- Master degrees and proven publication records generally preferred
If interested, please contact Prof. Huang directly.
