
Dr. Barbara Shaw is the course director and a professor of engineering science and mechanics at The Pennsylvania State University. She has twenty-seven years of experience in the field of corrosion, including eight years at government and industrial labs. She has authored more than 80 technical publications and is a recipient of the NACE Internation H.H. Uhlig Educator Award.
Dr. Gerald Frankel is a professor of materials science and engineering at The Ohio State University and is director of the Fontana Corrosion Center. He has twenty-nine years of experience in the fields of corrosion and electrochemistry. He is the author of over 160 publications and two patents. He is also a recipient of the NACE International H.H. Uhlig Educator Award. Prior to joining the faculty at Ohio State, he was a research staff member at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center for nine years. Dr. Frankel has been named a fellow of NACE International.
Dr. Rudolph Buchheit is a professor of materials science and engineering at The Ohio State University. He has twenty-one years of experience in the fields of corrosion and corrosion control and has authored more than 140 technical publications and thirteen patents. He is also a recipient of the NACE International H.H. Uhlig Educator Award. Prior to joing the faculty at Ohio State, he was a senior member of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories.
Dr. Howard Pickering is a Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. He has more than forty years of experience, and he has published more than 300 papers in the fields of electrochemistry and corrosion. Prior to joining Penn State in 1972, he was a senior member of the research staff at U.S. Steel's E.C. Bain Laboratory for Fundamental Research. Also, Dr. Pickering is a fellow of NACE International and ASM.
