We are devoted to the development of micro/nano sensors, actuators, and integrated systems that can detect and manipulate biological species with unprecedented speed, precision and manner. These Bio-NEMS devices will bridge the interface between modern molecular biology and nanotechnology. 

Figure 1 shows an interferometrically created nanoporous polymeric structure as a platform for biosensing, humidity sensing, and drug delivery applications. Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES)-functionalized nanoporous polymeric gratings was fabricated by combining holographic interference patterning and APTES-functionalization of pre-polymer syrup. The successful detection of multiple biomolecules indicates that our functionalized nanoporous polymeric gratings can act as biosensing platforms which are label-free, inexpensive, and applicable as high-throughput assays. Figure 2 shows SEM images of metal and semiconductor nanostructures  used in biosensing applications.
