ESM Available Software
It is illegal to distribute or copy software in a manner other than as prescribed in the licensing agreement.
For example, if you have purchased a single copy of WordPerfect, you cannot install it on multiple computers in your lab for use by students, TAs, visiting faculty, etc.
If you are not affiliated with the ESM department, please contact the technical resources available for your department or college. This page is for the ESM Department only.

The University and the ESM department offer many software packages free of charge, or through volume licensing agreements.
Software available through this link is for use by ESM Faculty, Staff and Researchers only. Students must acquire software via the Computer Store.
Other software may be available--check with a technical contact for the latest updates and a complete listing. Except where noted, software is for use on ESM departmental equipment only, and not at home.

The ESM Department has a departmental license for Mathematica.

- Microsoft Campus Agreement (MS Office 2010 and Office 2007; Windows 7)
Microsoft has a special agreement with the university. For personal use, stop by the Computer Store.
For departmental use, click here for more information. - OCR Software - a workstation has been set up to accommodate the high speed scanning of the Xerox 7765 in room 208. The workstation has OmniPage Pro 16 installed for your use. See a tech contact for assistance.
- Installation media (not licenses) for most Adobe Software is available for free from the tech contacts in room 212 EESB; place orders for licenses online at the computer store's web site, or check with Bill Ames.

- ASET, the advanced services arm of Penn State's ITS, maintains a High Performance Computing Group—free or low cost access to software like ABAQUS, COMSOL, Fluent, Silverstorm, GrADS, and others.
The following popular software titles are not site licensed and must be purchased
The Computer Store (formerly MOC) and the Penn State Bookstore on Campus offer special educational discouts.
- Consider purchasing the full version of Acrobat from the Computer Store, above.
