Symposium: Recent Advances in Fracture and Fatigue
Organizer: Thomas Siegmund, Purdue University

Description: This symposium is intended enable the exchange of ideas on recent advanced in the areas of failure of materials and structures.

The symposium is open to contributions on static and dynamic fracture, fatigue, as well as related temperature and rate effects. Of special interest are contributions on novel concepts for the computational analysis of crack initiation and crack growth, the analysis of size effects in fracture and fatigue, the failure of materials in coupled fields, the analysis of wear, the time-dependence of crack growth.

Since fracture is an interdisciplinary field, contributions from mechanics, materials science, bioengineering, interface engineering and nanotechnology are of interest. Contributions related to both computational and experimental techniques are welcome.
