Research in the ESM Department

The Engineering Science and Mechanics Department conducts research in a number of interdisciplinary fields, including nanotechnology, bio-nano, mechanics, optics, multi-wave interactions, nano-electromechanics, corrosion and more.

With more than forty tenure-track faculty and post-doctoral researchers, including five named and chaired faculty, ESM is recognized world-wide. Our faculty include past and present board members of the ASME, Ben Franklin Institute, ASEE, AAS, IEEE and SES, to name a few.
