Priyanka Dash, graduate student in Engineering Science and Mechanics under the advising of Dr. Michael Lanagan; Professor, has been notified that she has received International Conference Scholarship. This award is for her poster presentation on her abstract entitled “Alkali Free Boroaluminosilicate Glasses for High Energy and High Temperature Power Electronic Capacitors.”

Dr. Akhlesh Lakhtakia, Charles Godfrey Binder Professor in Engineering Science and Mechanics has been elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society. This year’s Class of Fellows will be highlighted in the March 2013 edition of APS News. Congratulations Akhlesh!

Mirna Zamrik, wife of Professor Emeritus Sam Zamrik in Engineering Science and Mechanics, was honored as at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Auxiliary Board meeting in November by receiving the ASME dedicated service award. ESM Congratulates Mirna Zamrik for her accomplishments!
