Mr. Zheng's research discoveries include inventing a high-throughput, cost-effective method to fabricate long-range ordered metal nanostructures and systematically studied their plasmonic properties; developing a temporal- and spatial-spectrophotometric technique to investigate the dynamic self-assembly process of colloidal crystals inside microfluidic channels; introducing a new concept (and possibly a future field) called plasmofluidics to the scientific community, which contributed to the development of plasmonics-based "lab-on-achip" systems for medical diagnosis, therapy, and drug discovery; and, pioneering a new class of active plasmonic materials/devices using molecular machines.
Join the ESM Department in congratulation Dr. Zheng for his outstanding success and accomplishments.
