Dr. Judith A. Todd, P.B. Breneman Department Head Chair, Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics, is the Conference Chair of the 2006 ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Pressure Vessels and Piping (PVP) Conference taking place July 23-27, 2006, in Vancouver, British Columbia.

This year's technical program of the PVP Conference contains over 700 technical papers, panel and plenary sessions, and forums organized into more than 210 technical sessions, tutorials, workshops, and a student paper competition. The NDE (non-destructive evaluation) and Software Demonstration forums are organized as part of the technical program.

The ASME Pressure Vessels and Piping Division is sponsoring this Conference jointly with the International Council on Pressure Vessel Technology (ICPVT), of which Dr. Sam Y. Zamrik, Professor Emeritus of Engineering Mechanics, is the Conference and Technical Program Chair, and in collaboration with the ASME NDE and Pipeline Systems Divisions and the Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers. With participation from the Americas, Canada, Europe, and Asia; the conference will be able to address current and emerging pressure vessel technologies in a global context.
