Dr. Reginald Hamilton, Assistant Professor in Engineering Science and Mechanics, was invited to give a brown bag talk to high school students participating in the Upward Bound Math and Science Center (UBMS) at Penn State. The talk informed the students about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields of study and highlighted the ESM Department. Penn State UBMS serves eligible students from Harrisburg, Reading and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and in six target high schools located in urban school districts in the state. The current six-week summer session at the University Park campus gives over 60 students intensive instruction in math, science, and language courses as well as experience conducting hands-on research at Penn State's premier research facilities.
