Dr. Tony Huang, Assistant Professor in Engineering Science and Mechanics, is invited to give talks at the Cleveland Clinic, and the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) on April 21, 2010.

Professor Al Segall
Dr. Al Segall, Professor in Engineering Science and Mechanics, was selected to present as a keynote speaker at the International Conference on Engineering Solutions for Sustainable Development. The title of his paper is “Advanced Materials and the Necessary Shift from Alloy-Centric Design Paradigms Required for Sustainable Development.” The meeting will be held from April 17-18 at the American University in Cairo.

Professor Emeritus Sam Zamrik
The American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) honored ESM Professor Emeritus Sam Zamrik by reestablishing a Pressure Vessel and Piping (PVP) medal in his name. The ASME S.Y. Zamrik Pressure Vessels and Piping Medal is bestowed for outstanding contributions in the field of pressure vessel and piping technology including, but not limited to, research, development, teaching, and significant advancements of the stat-of-the-art.

The award was established in 1980 by the Pressure Vessels and Piping Division and renamed the ASME S.Y. Zamrik Pressure Vessel and Piping Medal in 2010.

Professor Patrick Lenahan
Dr. Pat Lenahan, Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics, is attending the spring Materials Research Society (MRS) meeting in San Francisco, CA. While attending Dr. Lenahan is to present two talks and discuss his research with collaborators.
