Hongyan Yuan, Graduate Student in Engineering Science and Mechanics under the advisor of Dr. Sulin Zhang, Assistant Professor in Engineering Science and Mechanics will attend the 2008 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress on October 31 - November 6 in Boston, Massachusetts. Mst kamrun Kamrunnahar, graduate student in engineering science and mechanics, will present a paper entitled “Towards a Robust Visual Stimulus in Brain Computer Interfaces” at Neuroscience 2009, the 39th annual meeting of Society for Neuroscience (SFN). Yina Wei, graduate student in engineering science and mechanics, is presenting a poster entitled “Tracking of neuronal dynamics based on a hippocampal network model,” at the 38th Society for Neuroscience (SFN) annual meeting. The meeting is hosted in Chicago, IL on October 17-21, 2009. The SFN annual meeting provides neuroscientists a great chance for learning, sharing ideas and developing professional skills. Yina is advised by Dr. Steven Schiff, Brush Chair Professor in Engineering Science and Mechanics.

Jason Fritz, graduate student in engineering science and mechanics, will be presenting two accepted papers titled “A Study of the Effect of the Pulsatile Ventricular Pressure in the Development of Hydrocephalus” and “A Triphasic Mechano-Electrochemical Model of Brain Neuro-Mechanics: Application of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus.” The presentations will take place at the 3rd International Conference of Computational Mechanics and Virtual Engineering (COMEC 2009) from October 28 – 31 in Brasov, Romania.
