Ms. Barbara C. Faust, has been selected as a Penn State Engineering Society (PSES) Distinguished Service Award recipient for 2009. Barbara's contributions to the Engineering Science and Mechanics Department and the College of Engineering include 16 years membership, of which 4 were as Chair (1984-88 and again 1994-2006), of the Industrial Professional Advisory Council; 9 years as a member of the PSES Board of Directors (1987-1996); a founding member of the Penn State Women in Engineering advisory board (1989-1992); and, most recently, a founding member of the ESM Alumni Advisory Board (1997-Present) where she serves as the Chair of the Recruitment Committee.

Ms. Faust is a Fellow of the Society of Women Engineeres (SWE) and an ESM Centennial Fellow (2006). Her professional career spans 33 years at GE Aerospace-Martin Marietta-Lockeed Martin and now as a consultant for General Sciences, Inc.

Ms. Faust will officially receive the award at the annual PSES Award Ceremony scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2009 in the Kunkle Activities Center.
