Hi,

I just installed Gerben Wierda's TeX i-Package on my OS X (10.3.9) and
have a strange problem with printing the output of pdflatex:
- The generated pdfs look fine in Preview, but actually printing them
(Epson AL-C 1100) gives white paper.
- Graphical elements as the foldmarks in dinbrief are printed.
- Printing with latex and dvips works, but latex and dvipdfm doesn't.

So I guess, that there is a problem with the embedded fonts and the pdf
interpreter of the printer driver doesn't handle them correct. Does
anyone have an idea, how to fix this?

Regards
Johann

This is a 300x300 DPI laser printer with an HP LJ-III emulation. An =20
optional card allows to print in PostScript Level and Level 2. How much =20=

RAM is installed? Could you print any documents from Mac OS X? Have you =20=

installed the right PPD?

If you tried to print with PostScript fonts: how did you setup the PS =20=

fonts download? Or: to which file is the sym-link =20
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap/pdftex.map =20=

pointing? Is it pdftex_ndl14.map (no down load) or pdftex_dl14.map =20
(down load PS fonts?) Could be it's necessary to download all PS fonts. =20=

You can change this either in i-Installer under `Configure only=B4 or on =
=20
the command line as:

	sudo updmap --setoption dvipsDownloadBase35 true

I think this does not recreate the sym-link =20
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap/pdftex.map =20=

nor =20
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/fonts/map/dvipdfm/updmap/=20
dvipdfm.map, so as final step this is needed:

	sudo updmap

or

sudo updmap --nohash (might save some time)
