Folks,

It turns out that this crash is not new; it happens with TeXShop 1.18,
1.19, and 1.20,
and probably with all earlier versions of TeXShop.

I'll try to fix it tonight.

 Yes, thanks ... I have a WACOM graphics tablet driver that consumes 10-15 =
% (or 15-20%) depending on whether you check this via top or via Apple's Pr=
ocess Viewer. I suppose that is a large enough percentage, and I do recall =
that the slow-down happened after I installed this driver a few days ago. I=
 just wondered if this could have been 10.2 .. I recall that the switch fro=
m OS 9 to OS 10 had the same problem before 10.1 came out.=20

Thanks again,

Thanks for the help, Jeff. This seems to do the trick. I'd like to see
something for TeXShop similar to the old TeXTools plugin or the
BBEdit&OzTeX plugin, but I don't find the source for the TeXTools
plugin. I've got the source (C++) for the OzTeX plugin, and though I
don't know C, I think that I understand what's going on there (it's
pretty well documented). Maybe I'll take some of my semester break and
try to modify the plugin to work for TeXShop. In the meantime, at
least I don't have to cut and paste my documents from BBEdit to TeXShop
now! ;-)

Subject: package mathrsfs

Hi,

I want to use the 'mathrsfs' package (see The Not So Short Introduction
to LaTeX 2e version 3.15), because the \mathcal looks so much better
than the standard or that which comes with the 'eucal' package. However
\usepackage[mathrsfs] doesn't work. I don't get any know how I can make
it work (I suspect that I need to install aditional fonts), or if it
can be made to work at all?

Thaks,

Steffen

Hi

I just saw that tex'ing using pdfTeX produces the following error
message:

Warning: pdftex (file
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/pdftex/config/pdftex.c
fg): invalid line in config file: `pdf_minorversion 4'

It doesn't seem to have any effect on the document as far as I can see.

What's the problem?

Steffen

Are you sure you've got it right? It's \usepackage{mathrsfs}. Note the
brackets. It's certainly installed.

You call it with \mathscr{} in math mode. And only in math mode.

hi,

Sorry to bother you guys with these banalities.

Dear Friends
I've copied some of the content of dot-emacs.el provided with the
latest distribution by Dr. Franconi.
When I launch emacs from xfree (Fink supplied) what I obtain is an
error: "Symbol's value as a variable is void:darwinp"

Any idea ?
Thanks

Yes :-) There are some definitions in the wrong order. I attach a
correct dot-emacs.el

I will release shortly a new version where this and other minor bugs
will be corrected, thanks to the feedback I got in these days after
the release of version 2.0
(http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~franconi/mac-emacs/)

If you have any suggestion for improvement, I'm ready to listen.

Sorry that was the wrong dot-emacs.el :-(
This one should work.

Subject: TeX4ht i-Package available (problems)
From: "John Vokey"
Date: Mon, 11 Nov 2002 14:32:00 -0700

I installed the TeX4ht i-Package, but can't seem to get it to work. It
seems to process the dvi correctly (at least, without too much
complaining), but produces non-functional html. For example, here is
what is returned in the terminal:
-->
tex4ht mfreq
Searching `cmr.htf' for `cmsl10.htf'
Searching `cmr.htf' for `cmbx10.htf'

cmsy8.htf)
] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10]
Execute script `mfreq.lg'
<--

And here is mfreq.lg:
-->
htfcss: cmti  font-style: italic;
htfcss: cmsl font-style: oblique;
htfcss: cmmi font-style: italic;
htfcss: cmmib font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;
htfcss: cmbx  font-weight: bold;
htfcss: cmbxsl  font-weight: bold; font-style: oblique;
File: mfreq.html

Font("cmsl","10","10","100")
Font("cmr","12","12","100")
Font("cmti","10","10","100")
<--

But the resulting html file is garbage, consisting of the article text
(with no standard html tags) and some incomplete img tags. What am I
doing wrong?
